This week, for reasons of political thoughts of the past, reminded the Ab. Abdalá Bucaram Ortiz, and I want to do a little tribute to a charismatic leader of the Ecuadorian politics

Family political background

Bucaram is the grandson of Lebanese immigrants. Abdalá is the Spanish of `Abdullah. He grew up playing football in the streets of Guayaquil and later went on to become a successful athlete and earn a degree in physical education. He was also a sprinter in the 1972 Olympic team, the police chief of Guayas and the president of Barcelona Sporting Club, a Football team from his hometown. Besides being a gym teacher, he earned a degree in law and soon began his political career. He used to live in Kennedy Norte, a neighborhood next to the former Simón Bolívar International Airport before he escaped to Panama. He was the nephew of the politician Asaad Bucaram Elmalin, who was mayor of Guayaquil. His sister, Martha Bucaram, was married to former President Jaime Roldós Aguilera, both of whom were killed in an aviation accident.

Early political years

He was the Mayor of Guayaquil, and the founder and member of the Partido Roldista Ecuatoriano (PRE).

1996 presidential campaign

Candidate Abdala Bucaram Ortiz was elected as President of Ecuador. Although Bucaram defeated Social Cristiano Party candidate Jaime Nebot by a margin of approximately 20,000 votes, he managed to win all but one of the 21 provinces.

Time as president

Abdalá Bucaram was President from August 10, 1996 to February 6, 1997. His cabinet was put together by the Vice President Rosalia Arteaga. Within months Bucaram embezzled millions of dollars of public funds. Massive protests led to his dismissal from the Ecuadorian Presidency. He was dismissed by the congress on grounds of alleged "incapacidad mental" (mental disability). Congress passed the measure (44 votes in favor and 34 against) with a simple majority instead of the two thirds required by the Constitution, and appointed congressional leader Fabián Alarcón in his place, bypassing the sitting Vice President Rosalía Arteaga.

This caused a constitutional crisis, during which both were simultaneously sworn Presidents. Finally, Congress requested that the army assert Alarcón's power.

Present life

He fled to Panama City after the corruption charges were laid. He returned Saturday, April 2, 2005, after the corruption charges were lifted the previous day. He stayed in Guayaquil for about two and a half weeks. The corruption charges against him were reinstated after Lucio Gutiérrez was forced to leave to avoid the charges.

Bob Burnquist (born October 10, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro) is a famous Brazilian skateboarder. The biggest competition that he has won was the 2001 X-games. His speciality is switch stance skateboarding. He has always tried to find new ways to make his tricks more creative and more difficult. He has a signature trick called "one-footed smith grind".Bob Burnquist grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil and began skateboarding at age 11. In 1995, he showed up at the Slam City Jam in Vancouver, BC and competed against some of the top skateboarders in the world. An unknown to most, he amazed everyone with his technicality and switch-stance lines, and ended up taking first place.

Bob specializes in skating switch-stance (a reverse of a riders normal stance), skating vert switch as well as, or better than, most pros wish they could forward. He recently astounded the skate community by completing the loop switch at the SPOT in Tampa, FL. In 2002 Bob proved his untouchable skills when he was crowned the OP "King Of Skate"; skating switch-stance in the loop with the top removed.

Although Bob is now recognized around the globe as a leader for skateboarding's progression, he has not forgotten his roots and is a role model for other Brazilian skaters. He has brought notoriety to the country, and opened the gates for other gifted Brazilian skateboarders. He has appeared on Fox's "Best Damn Sports Show"; played a main role in MVP 2, is a playable character in Tony Hawk Pro Skater and X Games Skateboarding video games. Bob has graced the cover for SPORTS ILLUSTRATED For Kids, featured in ESPN The Magazine and many of Skateboarding magazine covers. Bob recently was featured in the Got Milk? Mustache campaign and endorses large corporate companies such as Activision, Oakley and Lego.

Since Bob moved to California, he has purchased a home in Vista, CA and added his own backyard skate pool and ramp. In 2000 Bob became a father when his girlfriend, fellow professional skater Jen O'Brien, gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Lotus. In 2001 Bob became co-owner of Melodia restaurant, in Leucadia, CA, with his family.

THE ROLLING STONES are an English rock band formed in 1962 in London when multi-instrumentalist Brian Jones and pianist Ian Stewart were joined by vocalist Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup. Stewart, deemed unsuitable as a teen idol, was removed from the official lineup in 1963 but continued to work with the band as road manager and keyboardist until his death in 1985.

Early in the band's history Jagger and Richards formed a songwriting partnership and gradually took over leadership of the band from the increasingly troubled and erratic Jones. At first the group recorded mainly covers of American blues and R&B songs, but since the 1966 album Aftermath, their releases have mainly featured Jagger/Richards songs. Mick Taylor replaced an incapacitated Jones shortly before Jones's death in 1969. Taylor quit in 1974, and was replaced in 1975 by Faces rhythm guitarist Ronnie Wood, who has remained with the band ever since. Wyman left the Rolling Stones in 1992; bassist Darryl Jones, who is not an official band member, has worked with the group since 1994.

First popular in the UK and Europe, The Rolling Stones came to the US during the early 1960s "British Invasion". The Rolling Stones have released 22 studio albums in the UK (24 in the US), eight concert albums (nine in the US) and numerous compilations; and have album sales estimated at more than 200 million worldwide.^[1] Sticky Fingers (1971) began a string of eight consecutive studio albums that charted at number one in the United States. Their latest album, A Bigger Bang, was released in 2005. In 1989 The Rolling Stones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 they were ranked number 4 in Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
